Texas Supreme Court Clarifies Child Schedule During Pandemic

On March 17, 2020 the Texas Supreme Court, responding to a need to clarify an apparent ambiguity in the Standard Possession Order, issued a new order clarifying that pandemic-related school closures are not  holidays that extend the co-parent's period of possession following spring break; but rather, that notwithstanding any school closures, trial courts should construe possession orders with the originally published school calendar in mind. 

I think many of us are grateful for the Court's timely guidance like this and hopefully it will deter some artful doubting disobedience by would-be clever contemnors in a time with limited access to the courthouse.

Kids go back to the home parent after spring break for folks whose possession orders follow the SPO in the code.
