Witness Preparation
The arrogant client needs rescue from himself. Problem with know-it-all rants, long tangents, smugness, sass, and non-responsive garbage? Bring him over. I will take him apart and then put him back together as a compliant, active listener with clear and coherent answers that hopefully will get him somewhere at the courthouse and unsanctioned at a deposition.
In all seriousness, practice cross examination is underutilized. The tall building insurance firms do it. They have in-office theaters dedicated as practice courtrooms and conduct entire mock trials with their people and their facts prior to going to trial. We should do some of that for the client who has a need and a budget for it, especially for the difficult client or the shy and intimidated client.
Practice examination with the meek or frightened client can be very valuable. You get nowhere when your client falls apart or breaks down into tears. Outside help to get your client oriented, comfortable, and practiced is a valuable thing. Practice makes better.
I offer this service at my usual rate for legal services at the time the service is provided. I do not have a practice courtroom in my office, but we can set up in a conference room here or at your offices and go until your client has her sea legs and confidence.
